St Gianna Beretta Molla was a pediatric doctor, wife, mother, and a saint - all in a matter of 40 years! St Gianna, who believed strongly in her faith, studied and became a pediatric physician and opened a clinic. Pregnant with her fourth child, St. Gianna was told that a tumor had been found. In order to save her child, she opted to undergo a less invasive surgery to remove the tumor but did not undergo the full surgery or the abortion that her doctors suggested. She gave birth to Gianna Emanuela and later died from complications. Her daughter lived however, and went on to become a physician herself. St. Gianna is the patron saint of mothers, physicians, and unborn children, among others!

As with many of our products, these items are handmade in small batches. This means that though we try to make products uniform, there may be slight differences from what you see in the product images (i.e. slight changes in knot formation, length, etc) due to the nature of handmade items.
