St. Clare of Assisi - Pocket Saints

St Clare of Assisi was a good friend and one of the first followers of St. Francis.   Giving up her life of comfort and worldly things, St. Clare chose a life of poverty and chastity, trusting and seeking comfort in the Lord.  When an army of soldiers came to attack Assisi, St. Clare prayed and held the Blessed Sacrament for the invading army to see - they fled as soon as they saw the Sacrament.  St. Clare is the patron of television, eye diseases, and the homebound.
