St. Charles Borromeo - Pocket Saints
About St Charles Borromeo Pocket Saint
St. Charles Borromeo was instrumental for working to ensure the Council of Trent remained in session and worked towards building unity and holiness during the time of the protestant reformation. Born into nobility and of relation to the powerful Medici family, St. Charles became a Deacon, Cardinal, Priest, and Bishop. He donated most of his income to charity and, at one point, fed upwards of 70,000 people a day during a plague and famine - eventually going into deep debt when his own money ran out. Later, he continued to minister to the sick and dying. St. Charles is the patron saint of Catechists & catechumens, seminarians, and more!
