St. Leo the Great - Pocket Saints
About St Leo the Great Pocket Saint
St. Leo the Great, or Pope St. Leo I, was the first Pope to be called "the Great." A doctor of the church, St. Leo had a deep love of the Church and for the Lord. After becoming Pope, St. Leo took his role as the successor of Peter very seriously - he fought for the unity of the faith, the opposition of heresies, and defending orthodox teachings. He worked tirelessly to preserve Christian truth and doctrine and minister to people in his care. He is the patron of peacemakers.
