St. Maria Goretti,St. Maria Goretti is the youngest canonized saint in the Catholic Church! After her father's death, Maria helped run her family's home and take care of her siblings while her mother farmed. When her neighbor, Alessandro, forced himself on her in an attempt to rape her, St. Maria resisted, pleading with her attacker. On her death bed, St. Maria forgave her attacker and was more concerned for the state of his soul than her own health. This act of forgiveness had an impact on Alessandro and St. Maria continued to intercede and appear to him after death. He later repented in prison, attended her canonization, and became a friar. St. Benedict,A man with a simple life philosophy, St. Benedict had a deep relationship with Christ - even through the many challenges that he faced. After being faced with temptation, Benedict retreated to the solitude of a cave for 3 years where he was tempted by the devil.
