St. Sebastian - Pocket Saints

St. Sebastian was part of the Roman army until his Christian faith was discovered and sentenced to death by the Roman Emperor Diocletian.  He was tied to a tree and shot with arrows.  Miraculously however, he survived and went on to speak loudly against the emperor and all that he did to persecute Christians.  He was beaten and this time died for his faith.  His amazing endurance and love of his faith inspire many.  He is the patron saint of athletes, soldiers, a holy death, and those with the plague.
